A Lie Sat On The Tongue

A lie sat on the tongue

Whispering sweet seduction

Offering garments of wind to cover the shame

A lie sat on the tongue

Battering for it's day

A wisp of glory for a moment

A lie sat on the tongue

Heating it hosts

With throbs of desire

A lie sat in the tongue

Relief for a moment

The hero for a time

A lie sat on the tongue.

3 Times I Stood At The Door

3 times, I have stood at the door to fame

3 times, I have taken a turn and ran

3 times, my heart said no and it was known

At the landing, I turned

The shadows behind the lights

Shot their eyes through the veil

At the threshold, I turned

Behind the applause was a sound

Much too close to a moan and a sob

My hand on the knob, I turned

It was too cold to the touch

The flashing lights, devoid of life

3 times, I have stood at the door to fame

3 times, I have taken a turn and ran

3 times, my heart said no and it was known

And still the lights are calling

Perhaps this time beating with the pulse of life

Perhaps maybe, this light will be true and not a train.
